Drive to survive will soon return to Netflix, as is the annual tradition.
Season five will be here next month and the streaming platform has also shared a trailer.
Season four looks back on the explosive 2021 season where Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton went head-to-head and pushed each other so hard they entered the final race of the season tied on points. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix became one of sport’s most controversial moments when Verstappen overtook Hamilton on the final lap.
While Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes did not challenge for the title in 2022, the team have progressed over the season. It was a year when Red Bull and Verstappen dominated after a brilliant start from Ferrari, as their strategic decisions were repeatedly scrutinized.
Verstappen’s eventual crowning as back-to-back champion was not without controversy, as the Dutchman didn’t even know he was world champion until he was told by race officials. As he waited in the recovery room to take his podium spot in Japan, he was told he had won the Drivers’ Championship, causing confusion as he asked “are you sure?”
The confusion arose from a rainy race where not all points were awarded due to the number of laps completed.

When will it come out?
The fifth season of the hit documentary will be released on February 24, 2023.
The show usually releases in March, before the following season. The 2023 F1 season starts on March 03 in Bahrain and the documentary should therefore be released shortly before.
Where can fans watch?
When the documentary is released, the full season will be available on the Netflix streaming service. There should be 10 episodes.
