The question of the venue for the 2023 Asian Cup has seen officials from the Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) make conflicting statements. Pakistan had previously secured the hosting rights for the continental event. Then BCCI Secretary Jay Shah who is also the Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) said that the Indian cricket team will not travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asian Cup. to this, the former president of the PCB Ramiz Raja had warned the BCCI that its decision could have serious consequences as Pakistan could also withdraw from the ODI World Cup in India in 2023.
Recently, the current PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi, revealed the date (February 4 in Bahrain) of an ACC meeting, where the issue will be discussed. “Finally, we now have a date to meet with ACC officials. I will be attending the ACC meeting on February 4 in Bahrain. I am not sure of our position at this time; I am keeping it close. from me and I will decide at the meeting. But, I can assure you that it will be for the good of Pakistani cricket,” Sethi said.

“Najam Sethi gave a very sensible answer. It all depends on the approval of both governments. You have to speak properly [with boards]. It’s not ravine cricket, that if you don’t come, we won’t go to your country either. I don’t understand who these children are, who come to play cricket in Pakistan,” said pakistan cricket.
Akram also commented on Raja’s ousting as PCB chairman.
“He came for six days, now he is back to his original place. Najam Sethi has experience. I think it’s a bad concept, that cricketers should be the chairman of the PCB. It’s an administrative job, so you have to have good communication with all the boards. Najam Sethi is the right man for this job. I don’t care if people get angry,” Akram said.
