The Williams driver has a very famous family member – his uncle, Harry Sargeant.
Harry is a former United States Marine Corps fighter pilot and officer.
He is now a multi-billion dollar conglomerate made up of several oil companies, including his father’s company, Sargeant trading.
Harry Sargeant also owns IOTC – International Oil Trading Company – which supplies aviation fuel to the US military.
He has made headlines for a number of reasons over the years due to his alleged involvement in political aiding Donald Trump.
The controversy did not stop there, as reported iNewsa senior executive at Burford Capital had been accused of swapping papers for a sex tape – involving Harry Sargeant – in a £74million lawsuit.
Logan’s F1 career in 2023
Sargeant completed the F1 2023 training when Williams decided to promote him from his driver academy as a replacement for Nicholas Latifi.
He showed flashes of pace throughout his junior career despite not winning the F2 or F3 titles.
Sargeant has raw speed but against Alex Albon he will find it very tricky.
This is an excellent initiative for F1 and Williams, given Sargeant is the first American to race since 2015.
F1 has grown significantly in America since the introduction of the Netflix documentary ‘Drive to Survive’.
Sargeant spoke of the influence his parents had on his career: “Both my parents have always supported me in racing. I feel like he is [my father] always had my back, no matter the situation. Also, the way he approaches what he needs to do and his discipline, as well as his entrepreneurial spirit.
“He’s a good, smart man, someone to look up to and he’s also a great dad.”
