The Dunstall Park action looks pretty good for a Monday night card, with plenty of recent winners and some intriguing newbies heading to Wolverhampton, live on Sky Sports Racing.
6.00 Wolverhampton – In-form rivals clash
It’s hard to see a wide-margin winner in this tight Fillies Handicap renewal Time to turn to talkSPORT (6:00), with so many of them in good form.
Valentinka hasn’t been seen for over 150 days but won last time out for coach Marco Botti, while Algheed did the business for Mark Loughnane on New Years Eve.
Queen Of Burgundy have plenty of pace and finished second to Southwell last time out – definitely worth noting for trainer Mick Appleby.
6.30 Wolverhampton – Ryan and Balding unleash novice quality
The most interesting race is probably the talkSPORT Powered By Fans Fillies Novice Stakes (6:30), with a good field of 11 including some well-bred fillies.
Kevin Ryan’s Hello Queen showed great promise on his fourth-place debut at Newcastle, while Sparkling Spirit can also improve after a fifth on his Chelmsford debut for Andrew Balding.
The Medici Chapel in Cheveley Park already has a 75 rating, but John and Thady Gosden will no doubt expect an upgrade before moving into a business for the disabled.
7.30 Wolverhampton – Pop Dancer too strong for Carroll?
The BetUK Over 40,000 Live Streamed Races Handicap (7:30) only attracted six runners, but it looks quite competitive with four of the half-dozen in good form lately.
Bellagio Boy is rarely away from Antony Brittain, with Cam Hardie circling and any horse that finishes ahead of him is sure to come close.
Pop Dancer (Tony Carroll) has also won two of his last three, while Lihou has plenty of back class and hinted at a recent revival for David Evans.
Watch all Wolverhampton races live on Sky Sports Racing on Monday 9th January.
