India New T20 Coach – Rahul Dravid on his WAY-OUT? The information coming out of the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai is that the Indian board is ‘seriously brooding’ to appoint a separate coach for India’s T20 Set-UP. InsideSport had previously reported that Hardik Pandya would be officially named the NEW Indian T20 captain ahead of the series against Sri Lanka. Now, a senior BCCI official has confirmed to InsideSport that this board is also interested in appointing a NEW COACH for India’s T20 team. In all likelihood, the new coach will work in tandem with Rahul Dravid.
Dravid will primarily focus on ODI and the Test team, while a separate coaching setup for T20 is being worked on.
“We are seriously considering it. More than it’s about Rahul Dravid or anyone’s ability, it’s about managing tight schedules and having specialist skills on board. T20 is now like a separate sport, a tough schedule and regular events. We also need to embrace change.
