
Del Mar’s fall race meet — named the “Bing Crosby season” after the Hollywood icon who founded the track — begins its four-week run Friday.
The races will take place over 13 days until December 4, mainly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with a daily first message at 12:30 p.m.
But take advantage of the holiday exception, Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, when racing the Del Mar Trail starts at 11 a.m. and ends around 3 p.m., which also leaves plenty of time for turkey dinner.

Opening weekend will feature a trio of stakes, starting Friday with the $75,000 Let It Ride Night Stakes for 3-year-olds one mile on grass.
The fall semester’s full stakes schedule — 13 major and two overnight stakes over the 13 days — is the highest-grossing ever, with a total of $2.45 million.
The slate is highlighted by a pair of $400,000 Category I headliners on the closing weekend, the Hollywood Derby for 3-year-olds at nine turf and the Matriarch Stakes for fillies and older mares a mile on the lawn.

The track will offer a menu of betting options, starting with winning, placed and displayed bets. The series of “exotic” bets, or multiple bets, includes Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5 and the popular “Rainbow Pick Six”. This bet costs 20¢ and can result in five, six or seven figure payouts.
