Lewis Hamilton looks set to expand his business empire after investing in a new golf business set up by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Hamilton is no stranger to ventures in other sports having been part of a bid to buy Chelsea Football Club earlier this season.

Although this offer proved unsuccessfulHamilton achieved his goal of becoming a sports team owner when he bought a stake in the NFL team, the Denver Broncos, in August.

But now it looks like he’s getting into golf after it was announced he and four other F1 drivers were investing in a new company founded by Woods and McIlroy.

The company, TMRW Sports, has a stated goal of “harnessing technology to craft progressive approaches in sports, media and entertainment to create new avenues for the next generation to enjoy sports” and was established in august.

The company aims to use new technologies and new media to appeal to younger audiences and is expected to host its first project, a golf league called TGL, in 2024.

The company, which Woods and McIlroy co-found alongside former NBC Sports executive Mike McCarley, has now announced a new wave of investors including some of the biggest names not just in F1 but in sports in general.

Hamilton joins Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris and Alex Albon, who are all known to have a keen interest in golf as well as former Red Bull driver Mark Webber to invest.

Alongside the F1 contingent, Steph Curry, Andy Murray, Serena Williams and Alex Morgan are among the sports stars to get involved. Justin Timberlake was also announced as an investor.

Hamilton also announced last month that he had set up his own ‘Dawn Apollo’ production company and said he plans to “focus fully” on it after his F1 career ends.

Speaking after the announcement of their new waves of investors, CEO McCarley said the combined reach of new investors will expand the opportunities and fan bases for TMRW projects.

“Over the past year, we have assembled a team of investors who will help fulfill TMRW Sports’ mission to positively impact the way sports are experienced in the future,” he said. he declares.

“And we were intentional about the diversity of expertise, thinking and background when we engaged this strategic group.

“From the very beginning, our plan has been to partner with the best in class in every way imaginable.

“Tiger, Rory and I appreciate the support of this unrivaled team of investors, advisors and ambassadors who believe in our vision of harnessing technology to create progressive approaches to sport.

“Their broad reach combined [500million followers across Twitter and Instagram] and cultural relevance will expand potential opportunities and fanbases for TMRW projects.
