Eddie Jones Responds To Reports Of Fallout With Danny Care Joe Marler – Ruck

Joe Marler has kicked a future in media into high gear, regularly appearing on celebrity game shows, presenting on Talk Sport and even starring in a new celebrity version of Rui Paul’s Drag Race.

With Sale Sharks powerhouse Bevan Rodd tagged the future, Eddie Jones looks comfortable going forward with Ellis Genge and Mako Vunipola as his experienced loose header moves forward.

Their relationship was further strained after Marler said Jones’ decision to replace 80-cap Danny Care after just 36 minutes was “disrespectful” during the summer tour of Australia.

However, the Aussie today insisted the Harlequins stalwart remains in his thoughts despite his second consecutive omission.

“I had a chat with him this morning, he works hard on his game and he knows what he needs to do,” Jones said.

“We have a great competition there. It’s a position we’re rich in when they’re all fit. We can only take three to the World Cup, the three who have the most consistent form and play the best will be selected.

He also mentioned scrum-half Care, saying: “We’ll have three half-backs – one who can run a game, one who can do something really exciting, your Randall or Mitchell type, and one with experience that will be Benny or Dany Care.

“That’s the plan at the moment, all the half-backs are aware of it and then it’s who is the most consistent, who comes up for selection.”

‘Generation exodus’ – Five more England players linked with overseas moves

A number of England stars are likely to travel abroad after the 2023 Rugby World Cup as Premiership clubs struggle to meet their wage demands following the reduction in the salary cap.

Sam Simmonds has confirmed he will join Montpellier this week along with five other players who could join him abroad.

“There’s another argument that if England paid them more per game, that’s another way to close the gap. The players add up the whole package,’ the Exeter boss said, Rob Baxter.

“It will cause debate as England players are paid quite well compared to other nations.”

Three England players who are staying put are Freddie Steward, Jack van Poortvliet and George Martin who have all agreed new deals with Leicester.

EXODUS FROM ENGLAND:
