Super League’s most unruly and disciplined sides revealed as Castleford Tigers, Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors scrutinized – Rugby League News

Discipline is always a major issue for rugby league teams.

If you have good discipline, a match is often a breeze to work alongside referees and officials, whereas having poor discipline can be extremely detrimental to the outcome of a match.

With the Super League crackdown seemingly back to a calm level since the start of the Super League season, it’s a good idea to take stock of which teams have been able to control their emotions to a greater extent than others.

A number of teams have a huge amount of yellow and red cards while others have shown great discipline throughout the 2022 season.

Let’s start with the good.

Wigan Warriors, Hull KR and Toulouse Olympique have had just three cards each in 19 rounds so far, with Wigan receiving one red and two yellows and Robins and Toulouse three yellows with no reds.

Wakefield Trinity received six yellow cards, with Huddersfield Giants not far behind with six yellows and one red.

Hull FC are next with two reds and five yellows as Warrington Wolves come next with eight yellow cards and Salford Red Devils not far behind with nine.

The Catalan Dragons have received the most red cards in 2022 with three – and two of those were given to former Sydney Roosters and Canterbury Bulldogs stalwart Dylan Napa – while they have also received seven yellows .

St Helens, surprisingly, sit third as the least disciplined team in the Super League after racking up one red card and ten yellows.

But, at the top are Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos with two red and 11 yellow cards each, making these two teams responsible for a staggering 26 cards between them so far!
