Liverpool FC have officially unveiled their new away kit for the upcoming 2022/23 season, featuring the ‘stunning’ new design to wear against football. united man in today’s first pre-season friendly match.
The design is said to be “inspired by the city’s vibrant music scene and in particular the pioneering role it played in the 90s dance music scene”.
The club adds: “Playing at their own pace, the Liverpool FC away shirt harkens back to a time when their clubs ruled the world, featuring an iridescent, multi-coloured marble pattern on a white base colour.
The shirt, which features black cuffs alongside a central “dizzy design”, has a predominantly white back.
The reverse of the jersey also features the 97 emblem encased by the eternal flames sitting proudly on the back of the neck in memory of those who lost their lives at Hillsborough. The move from 96 to 97 starting this season, is in recognition of Andrew Stanley Devine, the 97th person unlawfully killed following the Hillsborough disaster.
The kit is only available online now via the official LFC storewith a wider release on August 19, as well as a new training kit.
Nike says the kit is sustainably made, with on-pitch and replica jerseys constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles.
The away goalkeeper’s kit will be all black, but no official image is available yet.
