John Terry has admitted rejecting three managerial job offers after fans questioned his footballing future on social media.
The former Aston Villa assistant manager took up a job as a coaching consultant at Chelsea last year – a part-time position designed to help develop the club’s talent.
Assuring fans how happy he is in the role, Terry took to social media on Sunday to emphasize that he hasn’t been shy about taking on directing roles.

“Getting loads of messages telling me I’m not managing,” he posted on Instagram.
“I turned down three jobs last year and interviewed for two others that I didn’t get.
“It was a personal decision that I made.
“I have my role at Chelsea which I love and my family time which means everything to me. And I have time to have fun.

Following his departure as an assistant at Aston Villa in 2021, the former defender was eagerly pursuing a managerial role.
However, as the wait for his first head coaching job continues, the 41-year-old has admitted enjoying life at Stamford Bridge alongside his family.
During his time with Chelsea as a player, Terry made 715 appearances to help the Blues win five Premier Leagues, five FA Cups, three League Cups and a Champions League.
